10 Wrestlers Who Went To Insane Lengths To Get Over (But Didn't)

1. Vince McMahon's Work Ethic Is His Undoing

Vince McMahon is a workaholic, though he doesn't consider what he does work.

In revealing, never-before-heard insights on the Pat McAfee show, Vince McMahon shocked the fandom and wrestling media by disclosing that he loves going to the gym but isn't particularly fond of sleeping!

The lengths he goes to entertain the WWE Universe are truly remarkable. That bit isn't snark. In what is an incredibly convoluted process, McMahon finely tunes every scripted promo to ensure that the verbiage is to his exact liking before almost invariably deciding that it isn't. He then orders last-minute script rewrites in a relentless and heavily ironic pursuit of perfection. Vince wastes so much time fretting over finicky details, like the perfect synonym, instead of actually promoting stars on a consistent basis that allows for true, lasting fan investment.

He doesn't sleep. He spends his day making sure that everything is just so, which is unhinged, because he could simply identify talent, listen to their input, give them loose direction, and encourage them to get over.

Imagine Randy Savage's approach to the craft, only, instead of creating a masterpiece with Ricky Steamboat, he's treating MizTV like Stanley Kubrick.

Insane, and not over - if every message board thread created this century is any indication.
