10 Wrestlers Who Were BEGGING To Be Fired

6. Kevin Nash

Ol' Vinnie Vegas is a genius.

The real life Kevin Nash was weary of WCW's system by 1993, and he caught wind of the fact that Shawn Michaels was headhunting him for a bodyguard role in the WWF. Seeing much more potential in that gig, Nash lied to Ole Anderson that he wanted to quit the biz and go back to bouncing at nightclubs.

Amazingly, Ole let the big man (who was hardly a featured act, to be fair) out of his contract. Kev's plea, which largely hinged on being unhappy and looking to return to something that'd give him more personal stability, was a phoney begging act. He had no intention of quitting pro wrestling.

It worked though. WCW released the hokey Vegas gimmick, Nash sprinted over to the fed to assume the role of Diesel, and he'd later become WWF World Champ just a year or so later. He'd pulled the proverbial wool over Anderson's eyes by imploring him to trigger a contractual release.
