10 Wrestlers Who Were Forced To Retire Young

9. Corey Graves

Retirement Age: 30 Independent wrestling journeyman Sterling James Keenan had competed in the U.S., Canada, and the U.K. for years before being signed to a WWE contract. A veteran at the age of 27, the sky was the limit for the renamed Corey Graves. Graves became a tag team champion in FCW, then made the transition to NXT when the company changed the brand's direction. He feuded with both The Shield and The Wyatt Family, capturing the NXT Tag Team Titles (with Neville) from the latter. The pair lost the belts to The Ascension, and shortly after that, Graves was put out of action with a concussion. He returned after a month on the shelf, but a second concussion, suffered in April of 2014, put him out of action indefinitely. Heeding doctors' advice, Graves returned to NXT in December of 2014 to announce his retirement from in-ring action. Triple H publicly signed Graves to a two-year contract as a commentator for NXT, a position at which he has continued to win fans. Having taken a position on the Raw pre-show panel and hosting duties on WWE Network's Culture Shock, Graves has unlimited potential as a broadcaster.
