10 Wrestlers Who Were Only World Champion Because Of The Brand Split
9. The Miz
895078If it wasn't for the brand split and the fact that there were two World Championships in the WWE, do you really think that The Miz would've been awesome enough to grab himself some of the company's big gold? Highly doubtful.
In fairness to Miz, he had a great run as US Champ and was one of the most entertaining heels in the company during that time. Even still, was he really great enough to become the singular World Champion of Vince McMahon's organisation?
The brand split gave The Miz the chance to be showcased on TV more and to find himself involved in angles with top tier talent, specifically John Cena, that he otherwise may not have been if if wasn't for the duel rosters.
Despite having its good moments, The Miz's run as World Champion is largely remembered by many for a feud with Jerry "The King" Lawler and for Miz being the third wheel in the Cena and Rock feud.
The Miz is an entertaining guy and can make for a great heel when allowed to, but he's really, really not a main event calibre superstar, let alone World Champion material.
