10 Wrestlers Who Will Be AEW Champion Before The Next US Election
5. 'Hangman' Adam Page
How can you not respect the year and a half that Hangman Page has had since AEW’s debut in May 2019? At one point he was the company’s most vanilla, unengaging talent, even as it looked as though he was set to become the company's first World title holder. Fortunately, cooler heads prevailed and the title was placed on a man who was actually ready for the pressure that came with the reign, in the form of ‘Le Champion’, Chris Jericho.
But since then, Page has transformed into the most layered character in the company, one that every week, adds more chapters to what is currently the best, slow-burning storyline that has hit wrestling in years.
Page is now ready for the World Title and then some. It is inevitable that he snaps, and when he does, the belt won’t be far behind. He will march right up to whoever the champion at the time is - for story continuation sake, it will most likely be a member of The Elite - and beat the ever-loving hell out of them for the title.
It was clear from the very beginning of AEW that Page was destined to wear that gold around his waist, so people should really stop asking if, but when?
