The story practically writes itself, but laying out the steps harms no one. Roman Reigns looks set for a dominant Universal Championship run, one that isn't going to be ending anytime soon. It isn't out of the question that the Tribal Chief will hold the blue belt al the way to WrestleMania and beyond.

Who will Reigns face at 'Mania 37? Well, one man on SmackDown is long overdue a major singles push. Big E may have been saddened to see Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods get moved to RAW, ending the six-year run of The New Day in the process, but the time has come for the former NXT Champion to shine on his own.

He can do that by building momentum over the rest of 2020, going into 2021 as a dark horse to win the Royal Rumble, something he should go on and get done (maybe even getting a little help from Kofi and Xavier along the way). All of that builds to WrestleMania 37, where Big E dethrones The Big Dog and becomes the Universal Champion he always threatened to be.

Splitting up New Day is a controversial move, but it opens up the road to greatness for Big E. It is going to be a magnificent ride.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
