AEW’s Future Could Be In The Hands Of These 10 Superstars.
All Elite Wrestling has existed in some form or another for well over a year now, and despite a promising start, it didn't take the trolls long to start coming out of the woodwork to criticise the company's use of former WWE talent.
But instead of seeing this as a negative, fans need to see the value in bringing in established names that can help mould the AEW roster, better equipping them to perform on such a large stage, which in turn helps the company seem like more of a threat to Vince McMahon’s wrestling monopoly.
Provided that AEW uses its recent acquisitions from WWE as a way to help the younger or less well-known talents to get over, a la Cody's weekly open challenges for his TNT Championship, then the so-called new kids on the block will be given a opportunities to learn from some of the very best in the world, all the while carving out a niche for themselves as the stars of tomorrow.
But which names on the AEW roster in late 2020 will be the go-to stars of the company’s future? Which former indie sensations will grab those metaphorical brass rings and define the future of All Elite Wrestling?
10. FTR
When FTR, then known as The Revival, appeared in NXT, they had future main event stars written all over them. Fast forward to 2017 and the shine was already beginning to disappear through a number of false starts and horrible 50/50 booking. Instead of treating the former NXT Tag Team Champions as a genuine threat, the WWE creative team seemed intent on making them look foolish and out dated.
As the centre piece of AEW's tag team division, FTR have already reached heights they never dreamed of while staring at the lights every week on Raw or SmackDown Live!. Sure, you could argue that they're WWE talents taking up a spot that should go to a new team, but FTR are that great, and that underutilised over the last few years, that they feel like a brand new act.
Both Cash Wheeler and Dax Harwood are young enough that they could easily maintain their spot on the roster for years to come, only getting better as they grow older, and helping build the next wave of great tag teams in the process.
