Pete Dunne's WWE contract reportedly expires in September 2024. Granted, that's an age away, but what's the ceiling for Butch? He's been cast as a scrappy tag-teamer for much of his career in the company (that was even true for a spell in NXT), and it doesn't look like creative will ever take him seriously as a singles.

WWE recognises how good the Brawling Brute is in-ring, but he's unlikely to top push lists over the next 12 months or so. Leave, and Dunne might run into the same problems Shayna Baszler would if she became #AllElite. In other words, AEW's locker room is busier than ever, so making a splash for longer than a month or two could be difficult.

The ex-UK Champ is clearly the kind to back his skillset though. Not many folks thought Pete would even reach WWE's main roster when he signed on for the NXT UK brand in late-2016, but here he is. Still, Butch might have to move on if he wants more than he's currently getting.

Damn fine worker regardless.
