10 Wrestlers Who Will Never Be World Champion Again
3. AJ Styles
Joining Rey Mysterio as an all-round legend who has been quite open about his current retirement plans, AJ Styles revealed in an interview with Newsweek (via Bleacher Report) a few years back that he was fully intending to hang up his wrestling boots at the end of his latest contract with WWE.
And while Styles would eventually confirm earlier this year that, despite reports suggesting he'd signed a contract extension, he'd merely took an option up for an extension of the deal he already had, his additional words of "time is running out" hint at a Phenomenal chapter coming to a close sooner rather than later.
With that in mind, you get the sense that Styles is currently thoroughly enjoying the idea of being in the twilight of his run in-between the ropes, with the former WWE Champion evidently relishing advising the next crop of workers and leading faction wars alongside his Good Brother pals.
Styles has already achieved the once-unthinkable in lifting said WWE top belt on two occasions since bursting onto the Sports Entertainment scene, too. So, it's not like he has any unfinished world title business he needs to address before potentially heading down the talent scouting route for his current employer.
I'm sure he'd be Phenomenal at that, as well.
