10 Wrestlers Who WILL Retire In 2023
3. Rey Mysterio
It is uncanny how Rey Mysterio can still move around as he does, but the masked superstar may well believe it is time to pass the torch on to his son, Dominik. It has been clear that his latest and likely last run with WWE has been focused on establishing the next Mysterio by tagging with Dom and eventually fighting him.
A WrestleMania clash seems to be on the card for the Mysterios, despite Rey's best attempts to avoid his son by moving over to SmackDown whilst the Judgment Day still terrorizes Raw. Dom and his 'Mami' Rhea Ripley have soared in popularity thanks to the stable which looked doomed in its original form under the leadership of Edge.
Dominik still has some way to go to reach the in-ring levels of his revolutionary father, but he at least now has a strong character basis to perform on going forward. Rey Mysterio could put his career on the line against his son in a move that would garner Dom an all-time great level of heat, which is why it is the perfect time for the masked superstar to retire.
