10 Wrestlers Who WILL Retire In 2023

4. Sting

Sting continues to defy expectations as a wrestler well into his 60s, but with Darby Allin competing more in the singles division, it could mean that he is beginning to wind down his career. 'The Icon' has already retired previously when he was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2016 after suffering a bad injury in a match against Seth Rollins the prior year.

After being released by WWE in 2020, it was still assumed that Sting would no longer be an active in-ring performer, but he then debuted in AEW at Winter is Coming in one of the best introductions ever. His ensuing partnership with Darby Allin has been one of the highlights of the promotion's first few years as Sting has repeatedly outperformed his age.

It is genuinely magic how Stinger can use smoke and mirrors to maintain his aura and appear 20 years younger, but it does seem like he is finally slowing down. It has been a perfect way for one of the industry's most enduring performers to end his career, and he should be the first inductee if AEW ever opens its own Hall of fame.

I like wrestling a lot and writing about it is fun. Thanks for reading!
