‘The Sauce’ Alex Zayne kicked off Supercard of Honor, taking on Swerve Strickland in a contest that would set the tone for the evening.

Though it would be ‘The Realist’ who came away with the victory, both competitors put on an incredible performance.

Originally debuting for the promotion in 2020, Zayne scored an upset victory over the then-ROH Champion Bandito. Signing with WWE in December of the same year, Zayne would compete on the 205 Live brand as Ari Sterling before his release from the company in August 2021.

The high flyer wouldn’t be out of work for long, returning to ROH in September at the Death Before Dishonor pay-per-view.

In an interview with Nick Hausman of Wrestling Inc Daily Podcast, Zayne would reveal his eagerness to smash through some doors of his own:

“I look around and see so many cool things happening in wrestling right now. You see so many companies working together and all the boys putting over the forbidden door and stuff, and I’m like, yeah, I love doors. I’ll flip through it. Let’s do it.”

With Tony Khan now at the helm of ROH, it seems like Zayne will finally get his opportunity.
