10 Wrestlers With The AEW Stink

6. Kip Sabian

Penta Oscuro
AEW

Kip Sabian has recently been clocked in AEW audiences with a bag on his head in a character that appears to mirror the strange demonstration made by actor Shia LaBeouf on red carpets back in 2014.

The concept is as dated as the wrestler himself feels.

Back when CM Punk and Daniel Bryan were struggling to crack WWE infamously thick glass ceiling, the groundswell of support was crucial in aiding their ascension. It cannot work any other way, and moreover, why should it? It’s unideal to present the organisation as systemically inept in the first place, but at least if the performers are white hot, the anti-capitalist narrative is simpatico.

In Sabian’s case, more fans are likely to side with AEW than rally against it. There’s no way for this not to sound patronising, but right now Kip’s a heck of a hand and not a lot more.

The gimmick isn’t without an intriguing end goal, but the company have dropped sh*t cold before. That brown grocery bag could get Kevin McAllister’ed any day now.
