10 Wrestlers With The Worst Punches In The Business

3. Dean Ambrose

Notice how it’s labelled as Dean Ambrose in the headline, as Jon Moxley since bailing on WWE in April 2019 has vastly improved his striking in AEW and New Japan Pro-Wrestling as well as the independent circuit. Which is ideal given his gimmick is centred on being a brawling loose cannon that will beat the holy hell out of anyone that gets in his way. So it’s safe to say punches are central to his character.

But when he was in WWE as Dean Ambrose on the main roster there was a lot of talk and commentary that his punches were the worst of any full-time competitor. Whilst his forearms were good, many took issue with his plethora of strikes looking like some teenager punching their pillow because they got broken up with. Ambrose was great at so many moves like his suicide dive or his elbow drop from the top rope but his punches looked bogus and bizarre. Ambrose too got a lot of criticism online for his lariat clothesline too even though it popped crowds huge whenever he burst out from the ropes with it.

You could argue his Shield teammate Roman Reigns with his Superman Punches looks far more authentic than anything Ambrose swung.
