Is Rusev a heel or a face? At this point, it's honestly becoming a bit difficult to tell. Whatever he is, it's entertaining as hell.
Seeming to transcend the level of faces and heels entirely, the support for 'The Bulgarian Brute' since late 2017 has grown exponentially. Genuinely, he's approaching Daniel Bryan levels of overwhelming crowd support. It doesn't matter how many times Aiden English interferes during matches, Rusev is always being cheered.
WWE made the mistake of teasing Rusev Day's breakup far too early. Surprisingly, they went against their judgement and along with the crowd reactions. Instead of splitting up the most over act in the company right now, they've started to throw a few bones their way post-SummerSlam.
Don't get your hopes up on Rusev Day becoming SmackDown's Tag Team Champions, but at least enjoy their success while WWE keeps giving them wins.
