5. The Ultimate Warrior

In the weeks prior to SummerSlam '91, The Ultimate Warrior - who was advertised for the MSG show's headline main event - retreated to his hideaway in Parts Unknown. Frustrated with the lack of parity between his own remuneration and that of company mega-star Hulk Hogan, Warrior demanded his salary be topped up to match his rival, and wouldn't work until he received satisfaction.

Vince McMahon wasn't about to waste months of build for the pay-per-view - but nor was he going to let Warrior have him over a barrel. He acquiesced to the disgruntled grunter's demands in principle - just long enough so he could compete in SummerSlam's denouement - and then promptly slapped him with a suspension. But not without doling out a huge $75,000 pay-off, effectively Bogarding him until early-'92.

Benjamin was born in 1987, and is still not dead. He variously enjoys classical music, old-school adventure games (they're not dead), and walks on the beach (albeit short - asthma, you know). He's currently trying to compile a comprehensive history of video game music, yet denies accusations that he purposefully targets niche audiences. He's often wrong about these things.
