10 Wrestlers WWE Pushed Way Over Their Heads

1. Roman Reigns

Roman Reigns inherited John Cena's mantle as the most widely despised babyface in WWE a long time ago. Like Cena before him, Roman is presented as a "good guy," but regularly draws the company's loudest jeers, and carries himself like a detestable bully. He's a man who rarely loses clean, and when he does, the bookers are quick to give him a convenient excuse or find a way to have him get his own back immediately. Reigns is 'Super Cena' reborn, and many loathe him for it.

Just like his predecessor, Reigns is a victim of the way the company book him. Yes, his push has been extremely obnoxious at times, but that's not his fault. He's an upper-midcard level talent who has been positioned as the face of the company, and he doesn't deserve a fraction of the bile that's thrown his way.

Reigns' resumé of outstanding matches is too vast for the argument that he's a subpar wrestler to hold weight anymore. There are problems with his character work, and his promo delivery isn't great, but nobody would complain about these things if he wasn't being booked like Cena. If anything, his example shows that this kind of push no longer works, and it's a shame WWE haven't moved on from it.
