Despite his recent name change, “Gunther” is still one of the best wrestlers in the world. The Ring General has already had multiple world-class matches in NXT and truly proven himself against superstars like Ilja Dragunov, Pete Dunne, and Tyler Bate. This man is a phenomenal professional wrestler.
The storyline here would be The Ring General making his main roster debut alongside Imperium, and going on an incredible undefeated streak. From his surprise debut at Wrestlemania Backlash WWE could have Gunther run through challengers like Finn Balor, Rey Mysterio, Randy Orton, Bobby Lashley, Seth Rollins, and Drew McIntyre before ultimately winning the 2023 Royal Rumble. From there the story is simple, the undefeated Gunther alongside Imperium taking on The Tribal Chief alongside The Usos. All of this culminates in a Wrestlemania main event which sees Gunther defend his unbeaten streak and become the new WWE Universal Champion after a 30-minute classic.
There is certainly a lot to work with when you pair two performers who could each make a case for being the best in the world. Gunther versus Roman in the main event of Wrestlemania 39, you really can't get much bigger than that. To top this off Gunther's unbeaten streak can continue as he carries the World Title, thus creating yet another Goliath for a talent to overcome.
