10 Wrestlers WWE Should Never Have Allowed To Leave

9. Alberto El Patron

Signing with the WWE in 2009, Alberto lasted 5 years with the company. During his run he was a 2-time WWE Champion, 2-time World Heavyweight Champion, and Royal Rumble winner in 2011. Even though he was pushed fairly regularly his connection with the WWE audience never reached its full potential. WWE never seemed to know what they wanted to do with Alberto switching him from heel to face.

Alberto's exit came due to an unfortunate situation where a WWE employee -- former social media manager Cody Barbierri -- made a racial joke that it was "Del Rio's job" to clean the dishes in catering. Apparently this wasn't the first racial thing he said to Alberto, so when it got back to him, Alberto confronted Cody. An apology was asked for and when it wasn't received Alberto slapped the WWE employee. Del Rio was eventually fired for his actions.

Finding work was not a problem for Alberto as he is now the AAA's Mega Champion and a staple of Lucha Underground. His passion has returned and you can see it in his promos, which are so much better these days. It's a shame his talent is no longer in the WWE due to some jerk who isn't even with the WWE these days.

Josh's work has been seen on Cageside Seats, Yahoo, and The Richest. If it's not pro wrestling, he's definitely thinking about cured meats and/or sushi, but never all three at the same time...that can get weird. Twitter: @HeelDoors
