Nick Dinsmore first achieved wider visibility thanks to scant appearances on WCW Saturday Night in late-1998, but he made three in-ring appearances for WWE in 1999 as a Monday Night Raw warm-up act.

Partnering with Rob Conway as the 'Lords of the Ring' in Ohio Valley Wrestling, Dinsmore was considered a prodigious talent destined for greatness when he eventually made his main roster bow. Dinsmore and Conway's feud over OVW's top title was a phenomenal success for the group, and both impressed all the right people when they would work occasional dark and television shifts against the lower card talents of the day.

Though he lost a six-man tag alongside Flash Flanagan and Trailer Park Trash against a Corporate Ministry trio in July and an intriguing battle with Kurt Angle two months earlier, his year with the company would end on a high when he picked up victory against Danny White in October.

Waiting longer than former partner Conway for his call-up proper, Dinsmore wouldn't appear as a full-timer until 2004 when a misguided reinvention as Eugene would simultaneously make and break his career.
