10 Wrestlers You Didn't Know Competed At Wrestle Kingdom
4. Christian
In the early days of Wrestle Kingdom, it was common to see wrestlers from TNA make appearances on New Japan's biggest annual show.
The two companies had a working relationship back in the day and this was first made evident at the second Wrestle Kingdom.
The very first match on the card pitted a team from the RISE stable against AJ Styles, Petey Williams, and a certain Christian Cage.
Cage had left WWE in 2005 and turned up in TNA not long afterwards. He captured the NWA World Heavyweight Championship twice and went undefeated for nearly two years. Not bad for somebody that Vince McMahon wanted to put a blue dot over.
Christian and his team were victorious in this match, which, interestingly, pitted Styles against another future Bullet Club leader in Prince Devitt.
This match was a great showcase for TNA on an international stage and was a big step forward for a company that was only six years old at the time.
Like D'Lo Brown, Christian was highly underutilised during his time with WWE. He got a great opportunity in TNA and part of that opportunity took Captain Charisma to the biggest stage in Japan.
