10 Wrestlers You Never Realised Were Signed To WCW
2. Owen Hart
Despite Vince McMahon refusing to let Owen Hart follow Bret Hart, Jim Neidhart and Davey Boy Smith to WCW in the aftermath of the infamous Montreal Screwjob, the youngest Hart sibling actually did compete in World Championship Wrestling several years prior to the events of Survivor Series 1997.
Having had a brief stint with the then-WWF under the Blue Blazer moniker back in 1988, 1989 saw Owen return to work in the more familiar surroundings of Stampede Wrestling and New Japan Pro Wrestling. Of course, 1991 would see The Rocket return to the WWF to form The New Generation with Neidhart and then High Energy with Koko B. Ware, but Owen spent the early part of ’91 competing in WCW.
The future King of the Ring winner would have several TV matches in WCW, including teaming with tag team legend Ricky Morton, but his stay in Ted Turner’s rasslin’ company would only last for a few months.
Deciding that moving his family to Atlanta, Georgia was not the right thing to
do, Owen departed WCW and re-signed with Vince McMahon’s WWF.
