10 Wrestlers You Never Thought Would Get Over On TV

9. Dr. Britt Baker, D.M.D.

Orange Cassidy
AEW

Dr. Britt Baker, D.M.D. is fantastic.

It wasn't always like this. In the early months of Dynamite, she was exposed in long and at times awkward matches that failed to hold the interest of even enthusiastic and forgiving crowds. She felt like a WWE-adjacent experiment in the decidedly not-WWE company, in that she was more valuable to amorphous concepts of brand recognition and appeal than to the fan.

In a masterstroke, she turned heel, and weaponised everything that she was once promoted as to become superior to us all. She became our role model.

There's a tremendous depth to her comedic heel game. In a recent Dynamite skit, Baker claimed to be wrestling's Michael Jordan, comparing her comeback to that of his...

...to the NBA with the Washington Wizards. A funny joke on the surface, it's even funnier when you consider that, when scrolling through Jordan's Wiki, she was so arrogantly bored, reading about his unparalleled brilliance, that she skipped to the end.

Wrestler, dentist, comedian - matches, promos, skits - literally everything about Baker's professional excellence is appointment.

It's not just a killer act; there's a wrestler in there, too, as demonstrated in a tremendous April war, opposite Hikaru Shida, elevated into triumph territory by Baker's charisma and instincts to create a narrative with a click of the fingers.
