10 Wrestlers You Probably Won’t See In WWE Again

7. KENTA

As much as many fans wish a star could simply crossover into the land of WWE and instantly be as successful as they have been elsewhere, sometimes that sadly just isn't the case.

For a time, it looked like Hideo Itami (formerly known as KENTA) would genuinely be a hit on WWE's black and yellow developmental brand NXT. Yet, despite appearing in the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal at WrestleMania 31 and challenging for the NXT Championship, Itami never really felt like the same star that he did in companies like Ring Of Honor and Pro Wrestling Noah.

After a spell on 205 Live, Itami finally decided he needed a change in 2019 and was granted his release from WWE.

Since then, he's popped up in NJPW and has gone on to win the NEVER Openweight Championship and unsuccessfully challenged Tetsuya Naito for his IWGP Heavyweight and IWGP Intercontinental Championships at The New Beginning in Osaka.

As part of the NJPW roster, KENTA is finally being presented as a top level threat again and it seems unlikely that he'll choose to give up performing at this high a level in his home country to go and be another body in 205 Live before he calls time on his hard-hitting career.
