Double Or Nothing was a triumph: incredible, iconic, it felt special seeing a major league set-up with non-WWE branding before the show even began. AEW in the process broke many accepted rules of the industry.
You can't compete with Vince McMahon again.
Casual fans don't know anybody from ROH, NJPW, or MLW.
You only get one chance to make a first impression.
The Casino Battle Royale (the very first AEW match, provided you don't count the PAC Vs. Hangman Page bout that took place in the UK for Wrestle Gate) wasn't all bad, but was so all over the place that it stretched the "buffet" USP to within an inch of its life.

One of those things wasn't like the other, and the fact that it was held to determine one of two contenders for the AEW World Title made the irreverence somewhat insulting. Fun as it was watching MJF at his pitch-black comedic best, the tone clashed horrendously with the stakes.
Still, you'd have to be an incredibly boring individual not to have raised a smile at the presence of cult WCW '90s act Glacier.
He did less than f*ck all, but it was fun that he was there!
