10 Wrestlers You Won't Believe Are Still Wrestling

1. Tony Atlas & Bob Orton

On 23 November 1984, Tony Atlas scored a big victory over top WWE heel Bob Orton during the company's soon-to-be annualised Steel Cage Turmoil - a knockout tournament that would gradually lose the metal links and morph into King of the Ring. That was approximately five months before the first ever WrestleMania. Just under quarter of a century later, the two men - combined age 131 - were tagging alongside one another in Southern Illinois Championship Wrestling - contesting for belts, no less (they won, albeit by disqualification).

A month later, the old-school duo helped fill the numbers in a Warriors of Wrestling 'Ultimate Survivor' battle royal, alongside a parade of stars such as Mr. Grim, Myles Millenium and Steve Off. Despite their literal century of experience, neither managed to prevail.

An even bigger curio was Tony Atlas ditching Orton for an inter-generational battle of the ages last May, teaming with Frankie Flow (we're not sure either) to defeat the frankly unthinkable tandem of Tom 'Salvatore Sincere' Brandi and Gene Snitsky. Astonishingly, this wasn't the main event of the ECPW 2500 show. That honour fell to Tatanka and King Kaluha. The younger man scored the win. Tatanka, that is.

Benjamin was born in 1987, and is still not dead. He variously enjoys classical music, old-school adventure games (they're not dead), and walks on the beach (albeit short - asthma, you know). He's currently trying to compile a comprehensive history of video game music, yet denies accusations that he purposefully targets niche audiences. He's often wrong about these things.
