At first glance, The Undertaker and Goldust seem like polar opposites, but there are more similarities to their characters than one would think -- after all, both are masters of mind games. For that reason, the feud between the two in the spring of 1996 produced some entertaining television. Still, with Intercontinental Champion Goldust set to defend his title against the Phenom in a casket match, it looked like a certainty that The Undertaker would be a champion for the first time in years.
