10 Wrestling Attires We Only Saw Once (And Why)
3. CM Punk - Macho Man
When 'Macho Man' Randy Savage suddenly passed away after suffering a heart attack in May 2011, the entire wrestling world was thrown into a state of shock.
Many paid tribute to the trailblazer in their own way in the wake of his death and one star in particular opted to do so by changing up their signature attire on the first Raw after his untimely passing.
CM Punk strutted down to the ring in bright pink trunks with white stars printed on them and he also boasted beaming yellow versions of his trademark knee and shin pads.
He teamed with R-Truth on the night and took on the team of John Cena and Rey Mysterio, with Bret 'The Hitman' Hart also acting as the special guest referee for the match.
This aesthetic tribute ended up being a one-night-only tip of the cap, but Punk would later incorporate 'Macho Man's signature Elbow Drop into his arsenal for the rest of his tenure in the company.
He may have been a heel at the time, but it was near impossible to boo Punk's visual show of respect so soon after the loss of a wrestling icon.
