10 Wrestling Attires You Totally Forgot Famous WWE Stars Wore

1. Kane's Cape

When Kane crash-landed on WWF television in late-1997, he immediately became one of the most chilling characters the company had introduced in years. Standing around 7 feet tall and more than matching up to his story line brother, The Undertaker, Kane was a revelation. It's actually surprising that such a persona caught on the way it did in 1997, because it reeked on mid-90's WWF, those cartoon-like gimmicks that failed miserably. Characterised by an entrance that involved the man being bathed in a harsh red light, Kane's red and black outfit, complete with matching mask, became instantly recognisable, but a lot of fans won't remember the brief period of time when the wrestler marched to the ring wearing a red and black cape. That's right, the initial idea for Kane was that he would wear a cape to the ring, before shedding it to wrestle, just as The Undertaker has his trademark trench coat and hat for years. Management obviously didn't see the idea as in-fitting with the character after all, because the cape would only make a handful of appearances at house shows, before being stripped from Kane for good.
