It really isn't fair to say that Bam Bam Bigelow's career bombed after his WrestleMania XI main event loss, but that famous match against Lawrence Taylor proved to be the peak of the big man's career. One of the greatest super heavyweights in the history of the business, it was a testament to Bigelow's ability and professionalism that he was chosen by creative to face the former NFL star in the WrestleMania main event, a position of incredible pressure, to say the least.

Bigelow carried Taylor to a more than decent match, but that was as good as it got for the Beast from the East. He turned face not long after but little came of that run, and by the end of the year he had left WWE. Bigelow continued to perform at a high level in the ring but it was a case of diminishing returns, his ECW run in 1997 and '98 a reminder of what a force he once was.

Bam Bam resurfaced in WCW towards the end of that wretched promotion but the spark had gone. The main event of WrestleMania XI was the biggest night of Bam Bam Bigelow's career, and nothing ever came close afterwards.

Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man.
