Some wrestling characters, like The Undertaker, are able to last for decades. Some are successful for a little bit of time, then run their course and are eventually let go, like Santino Marella. And then, some are created, and are so amazingly awful that even Vince McMahon himself wonders what the hell he was thinking and quickly pulls the plug.

When introduced to someone new, we’re often given weeks of vignettes to hype their debut. A lot of money and resources were spent shooting these segments, which makes it all the more baffling when they disappear so quickly without any explanation.

In the business world, there was no return on these investments, and the company actually took a bit of a loss just to get them the hell off of our TVs!

On occasion, we do wish these characters had gone on longer, just to see what creative had in mind for them, but usually it’s best to let things go and collectively agree that they never existed.

It often takes months, or even years for someone to get over, but for these wrestlers, management gave them only weeks...or even days. Here are 10 wrestling characters that had the plug pulled on them immediately.

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
