While on the subject of the Federation era, alongside Steve Austin, the biggest name of that WWF spell was Hulk Hogan.

And more often than not in the '80s and early '90s, the biggest star in the industry would find himself fighting with the WWF Championship on the line during whatever PPV the company were selling, and WrestleMania was no different.

But did you know that he never actually successfully defended it again on PPV after his WrestleMania III victory over Andre the Giant?

Let that one sink in.

Every time 'The Hulkster' tried to defend that strap on a WWE PPV in the years that followed slamming the giant, Hogan actually surprisingly did the J.O.B., falling to The Ultimate Warrior, Undertaker, Yokozuna, and 'The Deadman' again during his return run in 2002.

Now sure, he would obviously put the title on the line (and successfully defend it) during various TV shows and live events over the years whenever he found himself handed the WWF/E Championship ball. And it's worth noting that there were a lot less PPVs on the WWE calendar back in the day. And he of course won the belt at, for example, WrestleManias V, VII, and IX. However, history still incredibly shows that he never once successfully kept hold of it on PPV in the time post-Mania III.

And that's the truth... mostly because it didn't come out of Hogan's own mouth, brother.
