By his own admission, Kevin Owens isn't a particularly religious man. Though you're unlikely to see KO attending church every Sunday morning, he does have some strong opinions on people lost to the wrestling industry. That's why, before all of his matches, Owens has a quick chat with fallen heroes like Owen Hart or Dusty Rhodes.

Backstage before reaching the Gorilla position, KO will murmur a few words to himself and ask that Owen, Dusty and his deceased grandparents keep him safe from harm.

He openly talked about this in an interview with Argus Leader, and Owens also said that he is constantly adding people to the list as the years roll on. Hart is his go-to guy more than anything, chiefly because Owen was such a massive influence on Kevin growing up.

To a young Canadian watching wrestling in the 90s, the Hart family were idols that Owens still reveres to this day. He calls on Owen, his favourite, to look over him and guide him through whatever dangerous spots he has planned.
