5. Dolph Ziggler Threatened To Quit At SummerSlam
SummerSlam 2019 was therapy for Bill Goldberg.
His match with The Undertaker at Super Show-Down in Saudi Arabia had been a nightmare for everyone (including the fans watching it), and he was determined to lick his wounds against Dolph Ziggler. WWE told both that the match would last mere seconds; they wanted the bell to ring, Goldberg to hit his Spear/Jackhammer combo and score the pin after 15-20 seconds.
Dolph was having bloody none of that. In an interview with Alex McCarthy, he said he threatened to quit right there and then in Toronto if WWE didn't give them "at least two damn minutes". After a ton of back-and-forth bickering, Ziggler was told they'd get just shy of 120 seconds bell-to-bell. That was enough for him.
Whilst all that drama was going on, Goldberg was in his own locker room none the wiser. It wasn't until later that the WCW icon learned what had been going on. He likely didn't care, he just wanted to redeem his battered aura post-Saudi.
