Known sports fan Jim Ross must've pinched himself when he snagged a regular seat in Ted Turner's executive box at the old Atlanta–Fulton County Stadium for an Atlanta Braves games. On his podcast, JR said that he loved taking in the occasional baseball game, and that he'd be lying if he didn't admit to revelling in social stardom.

"There he is, my wrestling guy" popped that bubble.

Ted introduced Ross to his then-wife Jane Fonda as "my wrestling guy" more than once in the stadium's private lounge. Not only was this slightly humiliating for the announcer, it also told him that he wasn't exactly best of buds with the WCW boss. Rubbing shoulders with Fonda softened the blow a little.

This is a fascinating piece of insight into Turner's mindset in the early-'90s, and it's not hard to see why some claimed WCW was little more than a toy to him. In fairness, he was a ridiculously busy businessman who met loads of people, and JR didn't take his comment too personally anyway.
