8. JR Was Helpless To Stop Nikolai Volkoff "Playing Drums" On Him

No, your eyes aren't deceiving you, and yes, you did read that sub-heading correctly. Back in the 1980s, hulking Croatian brute Nikolai Volkoff decided to channel his inner Keith Moon on poor Jim Ross, and the legendary announcer couldn't do anything to stop him.

This bizarre incident happened during a road trip from Joplin, Missouri to Tulsa, Oklahoma. Following a show in Joplin, Ross, Volkoff and his tag partner Newton Tattrie all piled into a car for the trip. Before setting off, they decided to pick up a six-pack of beers, and it didn't take Volkoff long to sink a few.

On his Ross Report podcast, JR laughed as he recalled Nikolai's huge hands hammering down on his body throughout the journey. Internally, Ross was screaming for his new pal to stop, but he was scared to shout because of Volkoff's imposing physical size.
