It's been reported before that Hulk Hogan wasn't happy with Lex Luger's debut performance on WCW Nitro in 1995. During a commercial break, Lex smiled at Hogan, and that infuriated Hulk to the point that he threatened to knock Luger's block off if he broke character again at such a heated, intense moment.

Leaning in to smooth things over, Lex said, "I’m sorry, Mr. Hogan sir. I didn’t mean it".

Lex told this story to The Hannibal TV, then followed up by admitting he decided to seek out Hogan at the next TV tapings to repeat his apology. At home, Luger joked to his wife that he'd flustered the biggest name in the biz, but he was pretty upset about it deep down. Knowing it was best to have Hulk on his side, Lex went searching for some red and yellow forgiveness.

Prior to filming another promo with Hogan backstage, Luger again leaned in to say sorry. Hulk instantly accepted and the pair got on famously after that. In fact, Lex believes his willingness to apologise played a part in Hulk's decision to drop the WCW Title to him in 1997.
