As mentioned during the introduction to this article, Sasha Banks cut a promo on Monday Night Raw that didn't sit too well with Vince Russo. The former chief writer for WWE wasn't alone, The Wrestling Observer reported later in the week that several members of the locker room weren't too pleased either.

All night long, Michael Cole, Byron Saxton and Corey Graves talked about what Banks may have in waiting. Would she be retiring from the ring? That was the clear insinuation, almost teasing those watching into believing the woman's injuries had forced her to step away. That irked some behind the scenes, who felt it was distasteful of WWE to write such a segment, only to then swerve it with the announcement that Sasha would be challenging once again for the Raw Women's Title.

In the Observer, it was said that some brought up the recent retirement speech of Daniel Bryan, a very real situation. Also, Tyson Kidd has been on the shelf for over a year with a serious neck injury, yet he has never been given the distinction of receiving similar hype.
