10 Wrestling Facts We Didn't Know Last Week

7. Ric Flair Introduced Lex Luger To Partying

The 'Nature Boy' Ric Flair was once one of the most notorious party animals in the pro wrestling world. Nowadays, the man keeps relevant by hosting his own podcast. This week, his special guest was also one of his most memorable opponents from the NWA/WCW days. The 'Total Package' Lex Luger and Flair had some great matches back in the 1980's. Time hasn't been kind to Luger, who suffered a severe spinal injury in 2008. Since then, he's pretty much been confined to a wheelchair, but admits he's a much better person now than he was during his wrestling career. Incredibly fond of gazing at himself in the nearest mirror, Luger flat out says he wasn't the nicest guy to a lot of people, and was fairly arrogant. Before signing on to become a pro wrestler, Lex was a bodybuilder. Obsessed with creating the perfect body, he wasn't one for indulging in alcoholic beverages. According to Luger, meeting Ric Flair changed all that, because it was hard to be clean and sober around 'Naitch'. Hanging out with Flair helped Lex let his hair down and relax a little, which also made the men become good friends away from the ring.
