If you're interested in how WWE might sensitively handle a storyline that depicts sexual acceptance, then keep a close eye on forthcoming episodes of Total Divas. There, according to a teaser clip posted on the show's official Twitter account, both Sonya Deville and Mandy Rose will discuss their pitch for an LGBTQ angle.

This is something the wrestling world has been talking about on and off for a few months now.

Although Rose and Deville, collectively known as 'Fire & Desire' on TV, have already pitched the story to WWE creative, there's no word on whether or not the writing team were receptive. Deville, who's gay in real life away from the ring, wants to fly the flag for tolerance and respect whilst giving young people in her position something to be proud of.

It's cool to learn that Sonya and Mandy are willing to play guinea pigs for WWE's explorative storytelling. The company don't have a long track record of handling such subjects with ease, so this (if done well) could be a turning point.
