10. Virgil Was Set For A Big Singles Push
Virgil has become somewhat of a comedic figure for many wrestling fans scouring the internet. Various pictures of a decidedly sad-looking Virgil at pro wrestling signing events have become stuff of legend. As a consequence, the man has become something of a cult figure, and he has a fairly big following on social media. It's generally a good idea to take anything Virgil says with a pinch of salt, because he has previously made some ludicrous claims. Amongst those are that he could till headline WrestleMania today, despite never coming close to it during his heyday. According to the man himself however, he was in line for a major push after splitting from the wrestler he managed, 'Million Dollar Man' Ted DiBiase. Turning babyface at the 1991 Royal Rumble, Virgil would face his former employer at WrestleMania and SummerSlam. The only title Virgil would ever hold in the WWF was the Million Dollar Championship. In his own words, he was nonetheless earmarked for a shunt up the card after becoming single. The reasons behind the push never happening haven't been explained, but perhaps he didn't cut it in the eyes of Vince McMahon.
