10 Wrestling Facts We Didn't Know Last Week (April 3)
8. Brooke Tessmacher Admits She Was Hired For Looks
Over the years, wrestling fans have had somewhat of a problem with how WWE have approached the signing of female talent. One name mentioned earlier in this list, Eva Marie, is perhaps a classic example of the issue, one which has the promotion scouting models more so than actual pro wrestlers. The idea is that WWE can teach these photogenic beauties how to grapple from scratch, but they'd have to unpick all those pesky bad habits from those who have been toiling on the independent scene for years. There have been exceptions of course, and the promotion do employ the wonderfully-talented Sara Del Rey as a chief trainer at the WWE Performance Center. Speaking out on the subject, current TNA Knockout Brooke Tessmacher admitted that she was exactly what fans are talking about, someone who was hired solely for her looks. Defending herself, Tessmacher states that she still worked her butt off, determined to prove that it wasn't only aesthetic appeal that she had, but never really feels she had the chance to show what she could do inside the ring when with WWE.
