By 2007, it'd be easy to imagine a showbiz stalwart like William Shatner wouldn't be rattled by anything. That's not JR's experience of the former Star Trek favourite. His eyes were opened to how unique the pro wrestling world is yet again when Bill wandered in from the outside to help induct his pal Jerry 'King' Lawler to the WWE Hall Of Fame in 2007.

Emphasis goes on the first four letters of William's surname.

Ross said on his podcast that Shatner looked relaxed and happy when he arrived at the Fox Theatre in Detroit for the ceremony. Looking dapper and feeling good, the TV icon then innocently asked where the teleprompter would be on stage, and wondered if he could have a gander at WWE's script. He was horrified upon finding out they didn't have one.

When Shatner heard the news, he went "ash white" (JR's words) and requested a prompter at least. Much to his dismay, that wasn't something WWE did at the HOF. They just let speakers talk from the heart and bring some of their own notes if they wanted to.
