4. Road Warrior Hawk Puked Due To Match With The Great Kabuki

Working underneath Joe Blanchard, Bushwhacker Luke helped book shows in the Texas area for him. One of his ideas in the mid-1980's was to bring in a young, raw tag-team known as The Road Warriors. Seeing endless potential in the 'power and paint' gimmick of Hawk and Animal, Luke and his partner Butch also worked a few towns against the team. On The Hannibal TV's YouTube channel, Luke recanted a funny story about Hawk that longtime fans will enjoy. During a match also featuring The Great Kabuki, Hawk ended up green around the gills. One of Kabuki's trademark spots was that he would spit 'green mist' into opponent's eyes, rendering them blind in the minds of fans. It wasn't uncommon for the man to use food colourant, or even pea and onion soup to make the spray green. That was too much for Hawk. Despite being cast as a rough, hard-as-nails monster, Hawk was unable to stop himself from vomiting when Kabuki sprayed the mist in his face. For several minutes, Hawk leaned over the ring ropes, puking his guts up and likely horrifying the fans around ringside in the process.
