1. Scott Hall Took Heat For Putting Chris Jericho Over In WCW
Scott Hall may have experienced his fair share of personal problems, but he's still regarded as one of the greatest minds in pro wrestling. Someone who found that out in the best way possible was Chris Jericho, a struggling mid card act in WCW's packed roster of 1997. The story called for Hall to repeatedly hit Jericho with his finishing move during a match until Larry Zbyszko showed up to confront him. As Hall explained to the Sam Roberts Wrestling Podcast, he wasn't keen on making the Canadian look like a loser. Even though Jericho was worried about potential heat over the idea, Hall told him to find a way to beat him during a Monday Nitro match, instead of just being made to look like enhancement talent. Scott then told Jericho that he would take the heat for the situation from management. When he came back through the curtain, Hall was met by a confused Eric Bischoff. Telling the wrestler that he had planned the finish of the bout for a reason, Bischoff was confused when Hall said the segment still came across well. It's pretty cool that Hall didn't just want to beat on Jericho, instead trying to find a way for him to gain some attention.
