Here's another Vinnie Mac story, and a rather funny one.

Before landing on WWF screens as the popular (if injury prone and clumsy) Ahmed Johnson in 1995, the man himself was working the independents and doing his best to get by. One day, he received a call from someone claiming to be McMahon, and he baulked at the idea. So, Ahmed told the Why It Ended podcast he hung up on Vince within 30 seconds.

Yes, the conversation was stupidly brief, so much so that Vince apparently laughed at Johnson's curt response to his call. Ahmed thought a friend or enemy was ribbing him, and he wasn't in the mood for it. At one point, he even bluntly asked, "What do you want?".

The next day, McMahon sent Johnson a first class plane ticket to Stamford, Connecticut. That stunned Ahmed, and he only realised then that it had actually been the single most powerful man in wrestling on the phone 24 hours before. Oops.
