Despite winning a Fatal-4-Way match on the March 24, 2014 episode of Monday Night Raw, Christian never did get to challenge Big E for the WWE Intercontinental Title afterwards. Suffering a concussion during the fray, that match would prove to be Christian's last. The Canadian has since retired from active in-ring competition in WWE.

Many fans were only made aware of this when Jerry Lawler on commentary started referring to Christian as being retired. It was really this year that the full story surfaced, and Christian recently spoke with Live Audio Wrestling to disclose his thoughts and feelings about stepping away from the squared circle.

It may surprise some to hear that Christian was at peace with his retirement from wrestling almost straight away. Naturally, he was emotional, more so when realising that he would never get to headline WrestleMania.

Quickly looking on the bright side, Christian told The LAW that he couldn't be bitter because he'd experienced one hell of a successful career. Winning singles titles, stealing the show at 'Mania with his best friend Edge and earning a living from wrestling all helped Christian come to peace with the idea of walking away.

That (incredibly) wasn't a long journey, Christian felt good almost immediately.
