According to Dave Meltzer in The Wrestling Observer this week, this past Monday's episode of Raw was initially supposed to very different to the show fans got. Look back on the program and you might notice how babyface-friendly it was. The was a deliberate ploy from Vince McMahon to make his audience happy.

Last week, it was the heels who had more to shout about. Baron Corbin, Drew McIntyre and others were booked as the focal point, and that was originally going to be the case again on Monday. Knowing how bland a second helping of Corbin-led on-screen dominance would be, McMahon stepped in and merrily went about his task of making the script a little more heroic.

That's why Ronda Rousey locked in her submission on Tamina Snuka, why Dolph Ziggler handed McIntyre his first televised loss in over a year (and turned face) and why babyfaces in general were written to overcome so much adversity.

In short, it was a return to Vince's long-held belief in the phrase, 'send them home happy'.
