5. Ernest Miller Almost Won The WCW World Title From Hulk Hogan

With all due respect to Ernest Miller, it is cool that changed booking plans stopped this one from happening.

On ex-WCW ring announcer Dave Penzer's 'Sitting Ringside' pod, 'The Cat' stopped by for an interview and said he was once in line to win the World Title from Hulk Hogan. In 2000, he was the Commissioner on Nitro, and everyone from Sting to Hulk believed Miller was one of the most over acts in the entire promotion.

So, according to Ernest, Hogan was interested in integrating him into a revamped nWo stable and putting him over for the title. This must have coincided with Hogan's Bash At The Beach controversy, because that's he only time he held a variation of the belt that year.

Had he left the pay-per-view as champ, it seems Hulk would've gone on to feud with Miller and trade the title with him. Bizarrely, that almost makes sense; 'The Cat' was a member of the renegade New Blood faction, and so WCW could've spun the rivalry into that.
