If you thought Hulk Hogan crashing the party to become WWF Champ at WrestleMania IX was bad, then just be glad Hulk's other big plan didn't come off. Months before he returned to the company, Hogan was in talks with Vince McMahon about what he could do during 'Mania season. He wanted to work with his good pal, Brutus 'The Barber' Beefcake.

Bruce Prichard laughed on his Something To Wrestle With show as he thought of McMahon's face when Hulk said he and Beefcake should headline WrestleMania. To his credit, Vince stalled Hogan and said they'd come up with something to suit both parties. He didn't quite see Beefcake as the guy who could carry his promotion through the 90's.

Hulk did, probably because he wanted to see a friend do well. Things could have been very different had Hogan been able to convince McMahon that Beefcake was his next big star. Admit it, you're shuddering a little just thinking about those Brutus Beefcake vs. Yokozuna main events.
